As for this year, Aspirants are tired of the long stay at home and wondering about their fate, which makes the Question pop up

However, due process has to be followed. The university is trying its best to facilitate the smooth running of all its operations. Aspirants aren’t left out too, as reliable sources affirm.

Now, the topmost questions are:

  • But the session is likely ending together with the year, is there hope for admission this year?
  • But we have written Jamb since 2019 and the admission is for the 2021 session Do we have to write another JAMB to get admitted?

Post UTME Exams still holding?

Few days back, so many rumours have been going around that Bayero University, Kano isn’t holding Post UTME Exams this year, and selection will be based SSCE results, some aspirants started asking awkward questions like:

“What of me that have a high mark in JAMB of 300+ but don’t have all the credits while someone might be having just the JAMB cut-off mark and having prettier SSCE credentials than me, will he be prioritized over me?”

Well, that’s just the negative of the truth. And to Answer the question, YES! Post UTME Exams are holding as stated in an Announcement filed in the University’s weekly bulletin of Friday 5th March that the Post UTME exams will be holding from Thursday 18th to Saturday 20th March 2021.

Actually, hope is in sight with the way Bayero University, Kano has been picking up pace in adjusting with the ‘new normal’. This is in accordance with the new approved academic calendar proposed by the Vice Chancellor on 26th of February and finally approved by the senate on 5th March 2021. The calendar stated the shortening of the first semester break and that the current session will be ending by August 2021, and new Session is likely to start early October.  The post below shows the content of the newly approved BUK calendar:

Do we have to write another JAMB to get admitted?

Many people probably think that JAMB results only have a validity of ‘one year’. But what if we view it as ‘one admission session’? If you put it that way, the question of whether or not your 2020 JAMB result is still valid is easier to answer.

There hasn’t been admission since the 2019/2020 academic session. It wouldn’t be fair to just cancel the session when it isn’t the poor aspirants’ fault right?

Plus, the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board haven’t officially made a statement implying the cancellation or expiration of 2020 JAMB results. In view of this, aspirants can remain hopeful.
