Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is one of the standard examination used in Nigeria as a criterion for admitting students into most undergraduate programs in Nigerian universities. An applicant is required to reach a certain mark called ‘The Cut-off Mark’ to be considered a pass. It is required for students to take an examination prepared by the university in which they applied for. The exams, in general, is called ‘POST-UTME’. In Bayero University Kano (BUK), it is called BAYERO UNIVERSITY KANO APTITUDE TEST (BUKAT).

Bayero University Kano Aptitude Test (BUKAT)
“Aptitude Test” is an exam used to determine an individual capacity to pass a given task. To be able to get admission into BUK, qualified applicants who passed their UTME must take Bayero University Aptitude Test (BUKAT).

BUKAT Eligibility
To partake in BUKAT. Candidate must;
- Have taken 2019/2020 UTME and passed with the required cutoff mark set by their respective faculties.
- Have chosen Bayero University Kano as his first choice.
NOTE: Candidates that passed UTME but could not reach the required cutoff mark set by the courses they applied for can still be admitted into the university…. Are you wondering How? How is that possible? Here is an alternative;
BUK Change of Program
- Use JAMB green form to change to another program in which you score is within the cut-off mark.
- After the change, proceed to BUK reg portal to ensure the change of course has reflected, as the profiles are updated from time to time.

The minimum marks or cut-off marks set by Bayero University Kano for the 2020/2021 academic session is as follows:

How to Carryout BUK Aptitude Test Registration With Your Mobile Phone

Here is a step by step guide on how to carryout BUK Aptitude Test registration using your mobile phone
- Visit Bayero University Website
Visit the application dashboard by clicking on Aptitude Test Application Portal on the B.U.K website
- Login using your UTME Number as your Username and your UTME Score as your password.
Ensure to enter your correct Jamb Registration number and JAMB total score for successful Login. You should see a green checkmark when you enter the correct details
- Navigate to Update Profile (1/3)
- Profile Update (Candidate’s Particulars) (2/3)
Candidate’s particulars is the first section you will see. Note that candidate’s particulars cannot be changed as those are your unique and crucial credentials.
- Profile Update (Additional Informartion) (3/3)
Fill in all the requires information correctly as in the form provided. Then click Update Profile
- Generate and Download BUK Personalized Payment Form (BUK PPF) (1/2)
The form comes with Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) with the sum of N2,000 being the cost for the screening exercise.
- BUK PPF Sample (2/2)
- Payment Via Remita(1/2)
Visit the Remita Website. Select Pay RRR Invoice and enter the RRR number on your BUK PPF.
- Enter your RRR Number (2/2)
Click on Continue and your details will show up immediately if entered correctly. Finalise your payment using Debit, Master or Visa card.
- Bank Payment
You can also move to any commercial bank with your generated BUK PPF to make your payment.
- Save Your Reciept
Whichever payment method you used. A payment receipt will be provided at the end of your transaction. Kindly save and keep it properly in case there is any error or complaint. Your receipt is your proof for verification
Note that: After successful online payment you can print your acknowledgement instantly, but as for bank payment, you have to wait for the payment to be verified before you print your acknowledgement card.
Also note that: The passport photograph uploaded from JAMB will be the valid Photo to be used throughout your stay in the university.
When Should I Register for BUKAT?
The online Registration for Bayero university aptitude Test starts from Monday 3rd of August, 2020 and ends on Friday 2nd of October. However, the printing of acknowledgement slip will continue up to the midnight of Sunday 11th October 2020.
NOTE: ANY CANDIDATE THAT FAILS TO REGISTER WITHIN THE STIPULATED DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Buk Aptitude Test Cutoff Mark
BUKAT cut off is determined by the course an applicant applied for. For instance, if the cutoff mark of Accounting is 200, then, an applicant is required to have a UTME (JAMB) score of 200 before registering for BUKAT. For more details check out cutoff marks of different faculties in BUK
Buk Aptitude Test Date (When and Where am I Writing My Aptitude Test?)
The 2020 Aptitude test Date, Venue and Time will be communicated to you via the phone number and e-mail address used in your JAMB Registration. Do adhere to all the rules and regulation that’ll be stated in your exams card.
